More and more people are beginning to realize that keeping a full wardrobe can completely drain their budget if they aren't careful. It seems that people everywhere have been brainwashed into thinking that unless everything that they wear carries a designer label that they are wearing ensembles that are behind the times.
The truth of the matter is that if you are willing to put some thought into it you can dress to kill and still have some money left in your pockets. To begin with, you don't have to be a slave to every trend that slick advertisers lay before you and you can reserve the right to buck a trend any time that you feel like it.
Do you think that the designers themselves follow trends when they dress? The truth of the matter is that if they did they wouldn't be trend setters they would in fact be trend followers. If you were to walk into most fashion designers homes right now to see what they were wearing, you would most likely find them in a comfortable pair of faded blue jeans and a cotton shirt of some type.
This is because most of them know that one of the most important things when wearing clothes is that you feel and look comfortable. This is not to say that you should boycott designer products, by any means. It just means that you can wear a nice designer shirt with a comfortable pair of jeans and look great.
Another good tip is to hang onto your clothes if you feel that they have gone out of style. This doesn't mean that you should keep your closet stuffed with all of your old clothes. What it means is that if you have spent a bunch of money on certain items then consider boxing them up and sticking them in your grandmas attic rather then tossing them in the trash. In ten years or so they will be back in style and if they don't fit you any more they will fit your daughter, son, niece or nephew.
